Personalized Medicine

Recommendation

To help fulfill the opportunities offered by personalized medicine, the Advisory Council recommends that FL CURED continue to work closely with BioFlorida and other state organizations in hosting joint annual conferences that include sessions on personalized medicine. One goal of bringing researchers together is to encourage and support efforts to coordinate statewide resources to advance personalized medicine in Florida.

The Advisory Council also recommends that FL CURED encourage and help facilitate collaboration among state biomedical researchers in performing clinical trials, especially multi-site clinical trials, to more rapidly move personalized medicine from the lab to the clinic.

Finally, the Advisory Council recommends that FL CURED and other biomedical research and healthcare organizations in Florida open a dialogue with the national Personalized Medicine Coalition to establish guidelines or procedures to promote personalized medicine opportunities in Florida.
